Why Insulate?

Just over 40% of CO2 emissions in the UK comes from people going about their regular lives. With this information we can now make a difference, and cut down our CO2 emissions one step at a time. From washing up by hand, to creating a compost pile – we can all make a little effort which will go a long way.

You Don’t Always Have To Think Big

Instead of buying a brand new electric car or completely changing our heating systems, we can make small changes which will still have a positive effect, such as:

  • Walking More
  • Driving Less
  • Washing by Hand
  • Turning off lights when not in use
  • Turning off consoles and TVs when not in use
  • Buying energy efficient items
  • Insulating our homes more efficiently

Why insulate?

Save Money

Most homes within the UK do not have the necessary amount of insulation built in – this means that just over 25% of heat loss escapes through the roof and walls.

By simply having the suitable amount of insulation in your loft could save you up to £150 per year (source Energy Savings Trust). This means that by simply installing insulation – it is the fastest payback solution available to us. When the correct type and size of insulation is installed, it typically takes less than 3 years to get your money back.

Reduce CO2 Emissions

By having your loft insulated to the recommended level you could be saving up to 800kg of CO2 emissions each year.
